About Switzerland
Switzerland lays in the heart of Europe, it is a land of mountains and lakes. Full of cities that have preserved their traditional cityscape and at the same time they have a perfect modern infrastructure. It is small and still so different, it is easy to explore. Traveling the country is like to thumb through a lovely illustrated book, with the difference that you can plunge into it.
Switzerland cuts into four regions with their own language:
The German part in the north with the biggest city Zürich, the capital Berne, the touristic hotspot Luzern and the most famous mountain region, the Bernese Oberland.
The French part in the west with the famous city Geneva with its lake and awesome mountain view.
The Italian part in the south is the canton Ticino. Protected by the Alps its climate is almost Mediterranean. Azure lakes and charming small towns full of palms and oleander are surrounded by snowcapped mountains.
In the east is the canton Graubünden where people speak Rhaeto-Romanic, an old language similar to Italian. It is known for its beautiful mountains and the world famous resorts Davos and St.Moritz.
